DESCRIPTION (Read HELLO.!!! then S2A.DOC first!)
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
S2AMAINT is designed to be run daily. What it does is check the bulletin
datafile (as specified in the configfile) for bulletins that have reached
their expiration date. It then removes those bulletins and renumbers the
remaining ones. You can also make it delete specific bulletins or just
regenerate the bulletin output files.
RUNNING THE PROGRAM
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Running the maintenance is quite simple. Just put a line inside your BBS
or Front-end mailer batch file or wherever you do your daily maintenance
that has the following format:
<Drive>:\<path to S2A>\S2AMAINT <Drive>:\<path to S2A>\<configfile>
Example:
C:\BBS\DOORS\S2A\S2AMAINT C:\BBS\DOORS\S2A\CONFIG.S2A
You can also type this in from the DOS prompt. If you are in the same
directory as the S2A files and are using CONFIG.S2A, type:
S2AMAINT /F
as a shortcut to specifying the CONFIG.S2A configfile.
OTHER COMMAND-LINE OPTIONS
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
When you need to force the bulletins to be generated (if, say, the output
files were accidentally deleted), add the parameter /F to the command-
line. As examples:
S2AMAINT /F /F
S2AMAINT CONFIG.2 /F
When you need to delete specific bulletins, type the command line with
the config file and add the numbers of the bulletins to delete separated
by spaces. As examples:
S2AMAINT /F 2 4
S2AMAINT CONFIG.1 8
If you want to delete the LAST bulletin, no matter what the number was
then type:
S2AMAINT <configfile> /LAST
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
■ Note that you can type parameters in upper or lower case.
■ See TIPS.S2A for more information about using S2AMAINT in conjunction
with the setup and the editor.
■ If any change in the output occurs, an errorlevel 200 will be created.
